Silkie chick size difference?

The chicks were both born on the same day, but the size difference is pretty big! Do they really have that kind of variety in size?

I don’t believe so, they were in a mix of fertile eggs that we ordered for our broody silkies at the time (no roosters)

Okau. They may be from different pairs then. In the US, all silkies are bantam classed, but outside of the US, they come in standard and bantam and some people breed both. That may be the case

Pick them both up and feel their chests. Is the small one extremely thinner than the larger one?

They are about the same, they both always have full crops and love to eat, both also move around all day long, that’s why I was confused for the most part

Then I think it's just genetics. Usually with faliure to thrive, it's very noticeable
