Silkie Chicks hatching LIVE

This is an R-com King Suro 20. This is my second hatch using this. I'm doing a staggered hatch this time around. There are 12 more Silkies to go. I have a total of 24 eggs in the invubator, the rest are set to hatch next week and then 2 weeks after that. Out of my last hatch I had 16 out of 20 (that made it into lockdown) hatch. Not bad for shipped eggs and a first hatch. This bator has automatic humidty and temperature. I run it at 99.5 degress and 45% humidity days 1-18. I then remove from the automatic turner (this time on day 19), and run at 60% humidty until I see a pip, then bump to 65% humidty for the actual hatch. So far so good. This chick doesn't seem too gunky, or too dry and once it starting zipping, went quickly and smoothly. It's now resting at the back of the incubator.

Whooo!

Seriously, thank you again for posting this. I might not be able to stay on and watch them all (I'm at work...kinda hard to stay online), but I have really enjoyed watching the one come out, and will be checking on them as I can throughout the day.
Happy hatch!

No problem! I thought it would be fun to share. Plus it's easier for all my kidlets to watch them hatch instead of crowding around the invubator. I start getting nervous when 40 little fingers are touching it during hatch. Eeek!

Another one zipping almost all the way around. 2nd row far right.

Yay! This is better than TV, for sure. I'm glad I'm home today instead of at work - they block streaming media.
