Silkie chicks seem to be getting crusty rears. Necessary to wash?

I have EE's and silkies. I've noticed that more of them are getting crusty butts. I have no experience with pasty butts but I don't think that this is what they have because their vents are not blocked, but the area around the vent is starting to get crustyish around the feathers. Should I wash them or leave it be? Are silkie's more prone to this? Never had issues like this before???Thanks

mine was like that when i got them, i took a Q-tip dipped in warm water softly on him and it finally came off (u came use a wash cloth to )

Get a warm cloth and gently run it off their rears, pasty rears are caused by stress.
