Silkie chicks - silver and gold based, will they both turn white?

I hatched some eggs from my little flock. I have a hatchery white rooster but my white hens came from a mixed color flock. They both have just one small black or gray feather in their crest but are otherwise solid white. I got a few other grayish chicks from this batch but their feathers are coming in white. This one little gray guy is noticeably darker, but I wonder if there’s a possibility it doesn’t feather out white.

It sounds like your hens are dominant white and the rooster may be recessive white. Some of the dominant white hens may be paint (carrying black) so when crossed with a recessive white rooster they would give you non-white chicks. That chick on the left looks splash to me.

Thanks! I was told white on white would always give white, but I’d be so so happy with a splash baby.
