I kinda have just the opposite problem. I have a RSL that has always had one toe joint down to her claw that is greenish grey. I will still examine it every time I pick her up but it has never appeared to be anything other than pigmentation. Maybe the light colored Silkie legs and my RSLs funky toe is just the universe trying to balance out.

This weeks hatch...so far. Some Production Reds as well. They'll need to be separated tomorrow.

My first chicks..one of the pullets was attacked by my dogs, she's doing ok though.

They may darken, but I doubt they will be black. But, you can breed the black back in. I've been known to be wrong before, so don't hold me to that.
