Hi, I have just got back from my holiday and found out that my friends did not actually take all of my chickens eggs like we had asked and when i looked under my 2 broody silkie hens we found 7 eggs, so I decided to candle just incase as we did not know how long our broodies had been sitting on them, they are all fertile and fairly well advanced and as we didn't plan this hatch we haven't made any plans on what we could so with the roosters, we are happy to keep the hens but don't need any more roosters, as I have been told generally that a large percentage of the hatch would be roosters but not sure what could be done with them?
Happy to give them away but is it like anybody would want them? I live in the UK but just wanted to know if any one had any suggestions. Thanks in advance for any advice received. Don't think I have posted this in the right forum but I am new and still getting to grips of how to work the site.

I understand what you mean about the confusing forum, I had the same problem when I first joined. I suggest posting in this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

Well, yes you may very well end up stuck with a bunch of roosters. You can always cull the extras.

Happy hatching!

Since it's your first post - you can post in the "New Member Introduction" thread. People will still be able to give their advice re: placing male chicks. We do have a very excellent greeter there from UK.
