Silkie chicks

I want to give my silkie hen a few extra chicks she has one chick about 3 days younger than the three I hatched. Do you think she would take care of them. And do you think I have to put them under her at dark. I would like to do it during the day when I can keep an eye on her and the chicks.

You can get silkie chicks cheap off Craigslist go for it I bet she will, silkies take in any young they see they have even been known to take in baby turkeys

I have one broody chicken a silkie and was wondering as well if I could grab some of my other hens eggs and have her be a surrogate. I have Rhode Island reds and barred rocks, just over a year old and aren’t ready for babies yet. Lol.

Yes silkies will hatch anything. They are broody àlot and just want to be a Mama
