Wow, someone who knows what they are! I rarely see one these days.

Unfortunately I lost my old guy almost 2 years ago now. He would have loved this winter.

Oh boy usually first time mommies aren't the best they do get impatient I would have the incubator ready just in case. Lol. Also try to not disturb her this will also discourage her from laying..

Might want to keep track of those days...

Or rather discourage her from continuing to sit..

I have a incubator going just in case do u think she will let me candle them ? She lets me pat her for a minute

Oh foolish me. I think they are my babies. fluffy balls my pets. :rolleyes:Not CHICKENS. Lol

As long as she trust you, you should be OK. But really I would try to leave her alone because the more you mess with her the more she will get off. After the first time, then you'll be OK to check them everyday because that's when they get into there "determine" stage, and will not leave until something arrives. It's just getting them past that first time is the hard part. Well not really hard as long as you leave her alone and let her do her thing.
Silkies are soo funny about that, the first time, they get impatient but after that OMG, they turn into this Possessed Chicken and MUST have that baby, That's when you have to keep water and food next to her because they will SIT forever, I had one sit for Two months, refused to get off. I finally hatched one out for her when her first round failed, and she was OK with accepting my hatched baby... They also will stick with that baby until the baby is WAY old enough to be on there own. The most DEDICATED chicken you could ever have. GOOD JOB..
