Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan :D

The frizzle gene is incompletely dominant, meaning that some birds that have only one copy will appear normal feathered but can produce frizzled offspring.

I have had chickens my whole 37 years.. I have hatch about 200 chicks out a year.. this was my first silkie Cochin.. I usually get 59% frizzle 50% smooth.. but never had I had one come out silkie before .. he is hansom ..just confused at how it happened.... I can not figure out how to put a photo up..

Hello and welcome to BYC! I remember when I joined you had to post a few times before you could upload.
Have a look at the window you type your posts into... Top right, hold your cursor over it it says "upload image" 8th icon from the right, click that, upload image, submit. Don't worry, it took me forever to figure it out!
