Hey - so this is floof, heavy at 6 or so weeks.
What do you think? Doesn't show much cocky behaviour but does have a bit of a crest.
I'm by no means an expert in the breed so hope for other's opinions. Would hate to have to lose this one.

You might have to wait a bit longer to be able to have a better idea. Be sure to also post pictures of various angles! Right now you're only showing the comb, which is handy information, but it's also useful to have pictures of their side (to check for different sorts of feathers and to check out tail length) and an image of them standing naturally (a cockerel will stand more upright than a pullet, and will usually have thicker legs). You can read this forum's thread on how to take helpful images if you want more of an explanation.

Either way, you have yourself a very good-looking chicken. Good luck!

Alright so I’ve waited a bit longer to post again. This time some more pics. One month on - let’s see if it’s any clearer. About 10/11 weeks old now. Looks kinda roosterish to me. But very quiet and calm.

That is DEFENATLEY a cockerel... sorry

Yeah I always figured he might be. So far, extremely quiet and passive though. Are silkie roosters badasses or chill - or just depends on the individual? We had to dispatch his friend from the same hatch at about 7 weeks cause he was already crowing and fighting anything that moved. Truly the spawn of the devil

just depends on the bird.
