Hello! This is Snow, my 31 week old cockerel. He is so shy and a little loner. He will not mount our three gals. We are a bit confused by it, but wondering if maybe he is just slow to mature. He is crowing, but almost scared of the ladies. Has anyone else experienced anything like this before?

Thanks friends!

Give him time, likely eventually he'll gain his confidence and the hens' respect and admiration once he matures a bit more. Of course it's possible that he will remain as it is but it is normal for a cockerel to get pushed around by the mature hens a bit and even desirable as it teaches him manners. As long as no one is getting hurt or incessantly harassed all is well

Thank you! I will say, he chooses to roost in a different coop. We have two small coops in the back. The girls roost in one and he will roost by himself in the other. Do you think I should start making them roost together?
