Hey yall 😊 we are hatching our first eggs this week with the help of broody hens. Trying to figure out chick colors now 🤔 8 total, 5 are silkies, 2 are silkie/polish, 1 hopefully olive egger. (OE is a EE/ welsummer cross I threw in)

I know the dark chick #1 with photo in my hand came from polish egg. The other one is suspected to be dark #3

ETA: updated last hatched chick. Hoping some one can tell me what colors I might have!

So clutch #1 is 6 weeks old, clutch #2 is 4 weeks old. All are satin feathers, all feathered feet except the 3 polish silkies, 2 silkie & 2 polkie have light skin & the rest have dark.

In a strange turn of events 😅 all 4 dark/ black chicks have some crazy colors coming in (3 polish/silkie mix, 1 just silkie) they all have black and white barring similar to a Barred Rock pattern and I have no idea where that's coming from. (Parents pic above)

The partridge #2 is still reddish gold, the other 3 light partridge are a beige silvery color.

The last chick to hatch from the 2nd clutch (with the white silkie & black polkie) ended up 3 days later and is a blue I believe

And due to my son skipping out on chores 🙄 I have 4 more due to hatch in a week or so (estimating) so much for being done this year 😆 😅 she was sitting on 14 eggs, luckily only 4 were developed So we shall see how these turn out soon

10 month update! Wanted to add some full grown pics for anyone who stumbles across this in the future 😊
