Hi all, I have a white silkie hen, and a black silkie roo. When I hatch out their eggs, what color are the chicks likely to be? Do they come out harlequined?, or is one of those colors dominant, or what? This is a curiosity question only, I know eventually I will have the answer in person

but I'm bored, and avoiding making dinner, so I figured I'd ask. Never could understand the whole genetics equations.

Hey, while I'm on the subject, if I have 4 lavender hens, and a lavender roo, what color would those chicks come out also

I'm thinking since all the eggs I received hatched lavender, resulting chicks will be lavender, is that correct? Thanks!

Usually a black is dominant over any color except splash so black to splash is blue where black to anything else is black with possible other colored neck and tail feathers. Lavender to Lavender is Lavender as well.

Thanks for the replies, I thought maybe one of the colors would be dominant. In regards to the black x splash, well darnit, I sold my splash hen. I know, I know, but she begged me, what could I do? Oh well, what's done is done.
