Blue isn't always inherited, it's 50% - 50% when bred to a bird with black. Half of the offspring will be blue, while the other half will be black. That is what the breeder was told her rooster is. The one above was bread to a blue female. She was told her rooster was a speckled blue
Okay.He was in a purple bin for the picture, I just tried coloring around it to make his colors show more to find out what he Is. I’m just terrible at coloring on the phone![]()
So if the mom was blue and the dad was a silver partridge like some have said, then would that mean the babies are also silver partridges or would they be blue partridges?Blue isn't always inherited, it's 50% - 50% when bred to a bird with black. Never heard of Speckled Blue.
I agree the rooster pictured is likely silver partridge I honestly have never heard of speckled blue. Here is a pic of the speckled blues for reference. I was thinking partridge too based off of the pattern but I just wasn’t sure.

If he's a Blue Silver Partridge, I can't really tell.So if the mom was blue and the dad was a silver partridge like some have said, then would that mean the babies are also silver partridges or would they be blue partridges?
Thank you so much! I’m so excited because I’ve been wanting some silver partridges for my rooster! Also they are just so pretty! My eyes can’t tell the difference between greys and blues, so when they get a bit bigger I’ll have to post some more photos to find out what color they are! Thank you for all of your help!I agree the rooster pictured is likely silver partridge I honestly have never heard of speckled blue.
Those chicks pictured are some kind of partridge, perhaps blue partridge.Hard to tell until they feather in.![]()
They were just hatched yesterday so I might have to wait a bit for their feathered to change, but I’ll upload more to find out for sure if they are silver or blue! Thank you for all of your help!If he's a Blue Silver Partridge, I can't really tell.
