Silkie Colors?

These 3 chicks are from eggs from cj exotics. what color are they?

These 2 are also from CjExotics they are Blue right?

These 2 are from CJExotics and they are partridge right? If so why are they so drastically different in color?

This one is from a "private" breeder, it is a Buff?

This one is another from a "private" breeder, is it a splash?

Beautiful birds! My only guess for the first ones are paint, but I doubt thats it.

I think the first ones are partridge, as is the third group you identified as partridge. That color seems to have a great deal of variability. Isn't partridge a sex-linked pattern in Silkies? I also believe you are correct in your identification of the blue and splash ones.

The first pic is partridge..just a lighter form. I have chicks from cj as well

and thats what some of mine look like.

The first pics of the zebra striped ones are very much like ones I hatched a few years ago, they turned out both grey and partridge.

I believe you are correct on the other ones, the one youthought is buff is buff.

Partridge is not really sex-linked. The appearance is different or male and female, but not readily discernable at hatch, although supposedly the darkest (I think?) are usuallly female. Once feathers start to replace down, you can begin to see the penciling pattern on the females' wings.
