Everyone here has been so great helping me figure out what gender I have in my new flock members I have one more i need help with. I gave my broody silkie hen fertile eggs to hatch from a local farm these baby's are 7 weeks old now and she is a wonderful Momma. This little one looks very different from the others I have only had silkie hens and think this is possibly a silkie Roo?? Its a beautiful baby but defiantly looks way different then the other 4 babies. Can anyone help me confirm if this is a silkie Roo Thanks!!

Thank you I suspected it has very broad chest and bigger then the others, what is a satin? The lady I got the eggs from has all silkies some are frizzles?
The chest and size aren't a fool proof sexing method, its the comb and wattles that give him away. He's adorable and I personally don't like silkies. satin is usually a mix between a silkie and a normal feathered chicken, usually a cochin (pekin).

Thanks for the info! He is so pretty and has a nice temperament I just found out I ended up with 2 Jersey Roos from my group of four chicks! They are 12 weeks old now and seem to be getting along fine I am hopeful everyone continues to get along! Hopefully this little guy will get along ok, With 24 chickens I am hopeful!

Try not to turn him into a pet and he'll likely be ok. :]

Satin silkie mix (which means feathers aren't silkied they're like normal chicken's and it's not pure silkie) looks columbian colored, cockerel
