Last night, "Chewbacca," my mentally delinquent 4-month-old silkie, came flying into the garage and under the car my husband was under while changing oil, jumped into the oil pan, and became completely soaked in waste oil. We brought him in dripping with it and put him in the kitchen sink with warm water and Dawn. This took about 8 times and a soft bottle brush to get it all off him. I rinsed well and blew dried him, then kept him inside last night with Hydro Hen-soaked grower crumbles which he scarfed up. This morning, I let him out with his siblings, and other than he still stinks, he seems fine.

I think Dawn should put his picture on their bottle. It saved his life.

How's he doing now?

Aren't chickens an adventure? 😏
Oh, it's a "she" I later found out, and she was good as new soon as she dried. We changed her name to Charlotte. 😊 It's been a couple of months now and she's gorgeous as ever. I need to get pictures!
