I know there's gotta be a bunch of you out there with silkie crosses! Please share photos of your silkies crosses and what they were crossed with [if you know]

These are our oldest chickens and the only pet quality ones out of about 50 or so silkies here.

King, the white one, I have no idea what he's crossed with. We took him in when he was around 6 months old.

We don't breed these, so it doesn't matter. They just get to live out their lives here. He's about 8 years old. The hens are a couple of years younger. The black one next to him is some miniature silkie runt that's molting.

I currently have six Silkie crosses.

This is Sapphire, she is my first Silkie cross and is crossed with an Olive Egger.

Next is Cappuccino, she is crossed with a Buff Brahma.

This is Maple, we got her from a farm swap. She is a Silkie, Frizzle, and Polish mix.

Next up is Sugar, she is Maples daughter but with Easter Egger and Salmon Faverolle added.

And last are these little Cuties! They are the same cross as Sugar.

This is my girl Astrid she's an absolute PAIN, she acts all cute and runs to me, talks sweet then i put my hand down and she bites the tar outa me. Anyway, her mom is a true white silkie and her dad is a white frizzled cochin bantam its crazy we hatched out 3 chicks, and they all came out pure white AND frizzled. like what typa luck is that to just get frizzles 😝

Cappucino is not crossed with a buff Brahma. Both Brahma's and Silkies have the dominant traits of feathered feet, this bird has none at all.

She is also partridge coloured, which is one of the more recessive colours. Might be wrong about this, but shouldn't she be buff Brahma coloured if that was done of her parents?

She had molted her feathered feet and the feathers have not grown back yet. She has more smaller sized feathers on the feet like the silkies rather than bigger sized ones (I’ll attach some photos).

You can kinda see the little feathers coming in on the feet.

She has the same colors and markings as the Buff Brahma that I’m pretty sure the egg was from, she’s the only Buff Brahma I have with those markings and that is darker colored. Her dad is also one of my Partridge Silkie Roosters, so that might be why she is a little darker than the Brahma.

Oh quite interesting that it appears she doesn't have leg feathers because of the molting! Would still expect a lot more leg feathers considering the parent breeds. Based on the Brahma colour that Brahma mom might be a cross between a partridge Brahma and a buff Brahma. It would explain why Cappucino is partridge coloured

Yeah it is interesting that she didn't take up more leg feathering. That would make sense if the Brahma is crossed. We got her from Rural King and I've had a chicken not look purebred from there before

We lost our silkies with our first flock, but they were so special to us! We are so excited to get more in the spring!! Here is a few pictures!
And yes the last picture of our black one she was soaking wet from a summer rain. They are a barnyard mix. I have no idea who their parents are.
