Silkie Cross Thread!! PICS!!

So do you think this boy is a silkie cross? He's a bantam I got from Tractor Supply and he is 10 weeks old and crowing. Feathered feet, 4 toes, black skin red wattles and a purple comb. He has beautiful blue, green and purple highlights on his black feathers and now copper red feathers are coming in too.




I wonder what he will look like when he is full grown.

Wow he's very handsome . He looks like a silkie cross CUZ he has the head feathers but the feathers are smooth

I'd say you are very right! Black skin, purple comb and smooth feathers are a common indicator of a Silkie cross... and I bet his feathers are supe soft too, huh?

I love all the cuties pictured on this thread! I have 15 5 week old cuties myself, all who are from the same silkie roo. I know they are from quite a few different hens.
This little one is the sweetest thing it loves to be with my kids, I hope it ends up being a hen!

Silkie cross question? I have a chick from a silkie cross rooster and I was wondering what the combs and wattle color development in your silkie crosses has been like? In those that end up with non black sink?

Also it is funny what they inherit this chicks sibling has black sink but the chick seems to have stale/yellow mix skin.

My chick got the vaulted skull and feather feet/legs too but sibling has clean legs.

I only have 1 right now, and she has black skin and very small, flattish comb, no wattles...

Silkie mix roo? Idk if it works for a mix, but a Silkie roo over a hen with yellow skin makes sex link... pullets have black skin and cockerels have yellow/yellowish skin...

Interesting. But I hope not! Topaz is just so sweet and smart I don't want to get rid of this chick!

I hope some else might know the answer to it though.
