silkie cross

I have a white silkie hen and only a barred rock rooster, she hatched 8 barred rock eggs and one of her own eggs. chicks are mostly black, the little chick I assume is the silkie barred rock cross as it is much smaller as was the egg. At first glance it is all black. Hoping it is a hen as I used a wives tail that rounded or more blunt end is pullet and pointed end is rooster. Anyone know that as a fact? Anyone ever tried this type of cross? wondering if it will be feathered like a silkie or not?

An eggs shape has nothing to do with the gender. Your chick will be smooth feathered, have a crest, and feathered legs.

I can prove that wrong. See my other post made today with what I was taught and still did not believe til I did exactly the same experiment and i have included photos, and reseach quotes on how I proved it. You can try it yourself or not. But it was exactly as an expert self taught breeder discovered. If nothing else you may at least find it entertaining and fun to try yourself.
