Silkie Dirty Behind

I have a 7 month old Silkie that has had matted poop on her behind for the past two weeks that goes from belpw the vent all the way down to her bottom feathers.
Needs to be cleaned and feathers trimmed back so you can get a good look at her vent and make sure it is clear. Poop left matted onto butt feathers can invite fly strike and the resultant maggots.

My first question is, would a change in food create diarrhea?
Sure could. Not all birds adjust well to a diet change.

I switched their feed from the Purina organic chicken feed to a sprouting mixture i got from a chicken farm. I add some egg shells, sea kelp and herbs to it every morning.
I would question if and how this is an improvement in nutrition.
