My neighbor has two silkie/EE cross chicks. If one is a pullet I can make a trade with her for it. I would like a silkie for a broody as none of my girls seem to know how to go broody. But, we are unsure on how to tell the sex with silkies. Please, help us.

Here is the little grey one.

And the white one.

If you need different pics, please let me know and I will try. It might take a couple days before I can get them though.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

The bird is blue, not grey. How old? I don't see anything that tells gender, but if the bird is several months old I would expect pullet due to lack of comb/wattle development; however if hte bird is only a few weeks old, then even that doesn't say.

I fixed the pics. That's the problem with doing something in a hurry.

Shame on me.

I sure hope the blue one is a pullet. I'm breeding our cattle for Blue and White Holsteins, it sure would be neat to have a blue silkie to go with! As you can tell, I'm not as familiar with the different colors of the chickens.

They are roughly 8 weeks old. Give or take a couple days. I will try to get side and top view pics within the next couple of days. We have been busy in the fields and she has been busy with a granddaughter up visiting.
