My best friend got chicks a couple months ago from the feed store and they were supposed to all be female. She was told they were a cross but couldn't remember of what. All but one have 5 toes, all have black skin. I'm thinking silkie/ee cross. What do you guys think?

I think Lucy is a roo, but they may just have larger combs because of being crossed. Def. Silkie crossed with something cute. Not sure about the others. HenZ

Thanks! I was thinking the same thing, hopefully Lucy is just bigger due to the fact that we don't know what they're crossed with. Any other observations would be helpful, ideas on color maybe?

I don't know if there are names for all of the EE colors besides "wheaten based" or BBS- like that. They sure are pretty! I love having a variety of colors in the flock.

thanks! i was trying to remember what it was called, wheaten makes sense. they are pretty aren't they? that roo is going to be really nice looking i think.

EEs don't have specific colors...they are what they are. Here are my 2 EE/Silkie girls with my EE roo (their daddy). Their momma is my avatar.
