Silkie egg lockdown day HELP.

I even have the YouTube chick sounds on to encourage them 😂
😄
Any updates @Essee ?

My first pipper has still not zipped, although has made a bit more progress in making the hole bigger which is good but that was about three hours ago now.

We're hitting the 24 hour mark in 30 mins, so I am starting to worry a bit... but he/she is still gulping/breathing/chirping, so I am trying not to worry too much lol.

Nothing more from the second pipper yet...

The waiting game is torture!!! 🤣

It is... congrats on your babies. The wait continues. I saw a little beak on my first popped egg so still working away amd I did see movement on the other one so I'm going to not worry yet since you said yours went 24 hrs. My little cuckoo silkie is the first one out. I have no fingernails at this point. Lol

Yes my first one ended up going 28 hours!!! But then just zipped straight out. They’re so cute I can’t cope 🥹🥹

Congrats on the little ones! I hope the rest pop out happy and healthy soon!!!

I hatch silkie eggs and twice have had them pip on Day 18, thus, I do a five-day lockdown.

Is that a blood ring though?

Regardless, eggs technically don't need to be turned their last week. We all just turn them a few days, then do lockdown, so if questionable, I'd pull the racks/turner and stop turning them at the least for now, then jack the humidity up to 60% for a day, then 70% after that.
Shout out to Debbie 292d for her experience it helped me reading her response to Ka002 on her hatching. I went into lockdown early and good thing silkies started pipping 2 days early. Love this website.
