Silkie eggs. Whats happening??

Thanks for the information. I'm not familiar with that specific incubator and could not find an operating manual online. I'm not sure how it manages humidity. Mine has different water reservoirs, you manage humidity by filling up certain ones and leaving other reservoirs dry. The depth if water does not matter, it is surface area for the water to evaporate from. I don't know how you are using those paper towels. If they are staying damp they are may be raising the humidity.

If I accidentally get a reservoir I want to be dry wet, the humidity spikes until that moisture evaporates. I can't see if yours have different reservoirs or not.

So sorry for not replying earlier i got busy with school work. I got it off of amazon- its this is what it is, Im not home right now. I live in Houston Texas, and the incubators inside. If i leave it empty it drops down to about 35, but its like minimum water and it spikes up to like 50. right now its around 50-60 and I have paper towels in there. I'm definitely ignored the instructions because it had me put way too much water in there.
Okay. I found your incubator.

It sounds like you now have a handle on the humidity. Humidity can jump up and down as it's an average, and should be around 50%. The temperature however should remain stable at 99.5F or very close to that.

I saw the reviews and overall, they were good.

Having a thermometer/hygrometer to check your incubator is important as it might not be spot on. Many of us like the Govee brand on Amazon, but you can get something cheaper at Walmart or elsewhere, just make sure it's a size that can fit in your incubator and is reliable. If you're not sure, look it up online to see reviews.
