silkie eggs??

I just got a female silkie and she is pretty young so I was wondering if it is due to this, the stress or just because they are prone to be broody that I have not seen an egg. It has been about five days. What do ya'll think?

How old is she? You say she's young, maybe she isn't laying yet. Stress and a new environment can cause them to stop laying for a while. Give her some time, I'm sure she'll lay you an egg and promptly go broody soon!

Chickens' combs do turn a deeper color when they begin to lay. An adult Silkie will have a purplish comb.
And yes, Silkies are prone to broodiness. They are excellent mother hens and very sweet.
