I'm no silkie expert but it does have the swept back crest of a rooster. I don't see any huge comb or wattles like a rooster would have. The only way you can really tell is when they lay eggs or crow, but some silkie hens also crow. I would just wait.
I know, after 26 weeks, I am thinking pullet...just because of the lack of comb, this is my first silkie to own...patience, its not like it eats a lot or anything...
if "she" is a she...wouldn't the roosters being trying to mount her by now? I am unfamiliar with Silkies...what age to they become mature enough for this? When should I expect any eggs, if she is a she?
Is this a hatchery silkie or a silkie from a breeder?
If from a hatchery, i think it may be a cockerel, because i think i see a little pointy comb (normally silkies have walnut combs but hatchery silkies don't always have them)
Here is a young cockerel of mine about 5 month old...note the walnut comb starting to grow already and he is a bit younger than yours. He also already is getting streamers and has saddle feathers.
Here is an older roo (almost 1 year) you can CLEARLY see his long saddle feathers and streamers!
