Hello,
Im getting massivley mixed advice from everywhere on what i should be feeding my new silkie chicks and mother hen.
They are currently in the indoor coop due to the rain and take them out to the run when it dries up for an hour or so.
I currently feed them chick crumbs with small budgie grit (as I was told not to use the oyster shells id bought) they have treats of veg and always fresh water... Is this all right the chicks are 3 days old.
Many thanks

Chick crumbles is just fine... no, you don't need oyester shell until the girls are a lot older and laying eggs... if you just give them crumbles, then they don't need the grit... if you give veggies (which sounds like that is more for mom and the bits she breaks up for them) then just make sure there's a bit of grit around... sounds like you're doing well and ask any questions anytime! :)

It would be fun to see a picture of your silkie chicks if you would like to share. It sounds like you're off to a good start with them.

Thanks for joining us!
