For those of you with larger Silkie-only flocks, I was wondering a couple of things. Do you find that Silkie roosters are more docile than full-size chicken roosters? And if you have more than one rooster, do you find they get along or should there only be one rooster?
I got a beautiful red/dark buff rooster a bit ago and couldn't help getting a hen as well. The hen is the same age as the very-obvious rooster. However, I did notice some small streamers today in the hen. Everything else says hen and my Silkie flock are not being so nice to her, but they LOVE the rooster. Is it possible for a hen to have a few streamers? Or is it most likely a rooster that hasn't fully developed. (They are roughly 5-6 months old).
