If they were that way in the shipping box you have a legitimate point. And buff chicks should be buff, although they may have some darkish down. Blues, blacks and greys do not look like buffs.

Yes, I agree they are not show quality, it has taken me 4 years to get what I wanted, and they still aren't the best. He is an example with me with Sultans:
I was on ebay and I saw a 6+ sultan egg auction. The pic was the most beautiful sultan in the world! Giant crest, hugely feathered feet, perfect comb! I bought the eggs right away for about $40. I went to feather site and looked at the sultan pictures. To my surprise, they're was the same sultan pic I saw in the auction, of the magnificent bird! I was furious. I confronted her and she made excuses about it. I then got two chicks from the bunch, both had yellow feet, when they should have slate blue. She then said they will turn blue as they get older, they never did. I have a hen and a cock now, the cock has a weird comb and almost no crest, both have almost no feet feathering and they should have 5 nice toes but these ones have little weird toes the spriged off their big ones. They are very poor quality. It is just how you learn by dealing with people who rip you off. [Does anyone know of anyone with some nice sultans?]

If you post a photo in an ad, it should

1) be representative of your birds

2) if not the bird for sale or the actual parents (in the case of eggs or chicks), that information should be prominantly listed.

I agree with everyone. I rushed in without doing enough looking around. But if I had the chance I would do exactly what I have already done because within two days of being with this chick he has already bonded with me. I agree I was looking for SQ but I can get more. And he looks more like a show chick now. I gave him a bath and he is fluffed out. And looks clean and fluff. Thanks for all the help. And if you want to put a word out that I'm looking PM me.
