I have 2 white, 2 partridge and 1 blue ( grey ) silkie! 3 days ago one of my poor partridge babies was being handled too roughly by a neighborhood kid & I noticed it standing on 1 leg so I immediately brought them back in the brooder, made a 2 make shift brooder real quick for her and separated her from the others. The first day she didn't move much, she kept the 1 leg real close to her body and didn't put any pressure on it. Then she wouldn't stand up and all on either leg. Come the 2 day she finally got up and started using her other leg. I'm going to inspect her today but more than likely keep her isolated for a couple more days. I feel so bad!!!! I know she is lonely and it breaks my heart I think her leg is / was broke! I learned my lesson though. Their we're just too many children over in our yard for me to watch

Okay awesome! Your poor partridge!!! Aw, I feel so bad for the poor thing! But I'm so glad that you did exactly what you did with her, that should definitely help her heal up. You can also try mixing a little vitamins in her water, that helps weaker birds get stronger when they are injured or stressed. I can't wait to see the pics! And don't feel pressured to take one of the injured partridge if she is still not feeling the best, I want her to be comfortable and get better over everything else. Thanks!

She ( well hopefully a she ) is doing better! Now I can't remember if I updated everyone on her. She is still separated from the others in a make shift brooder I had to come up with on the spot ( plast tub) lol she is finally putting pressure on the other leg and isn't holding it close the the body. Still isn't as active but I think she's healing up! Thank heavens!! Here are some pictures I took of them all today!!

Is the one by itself in the first pics and then again in the middle pics the partridge that was hurt? Wait, I think it is because I can see the walls of the plastic bin brooder. That one looks just like a girl! So does that white one I was talking about before. They both have round henlike 'puffs' on their heads. The only ones I would really worry about being roosters on yours would probably be your other partridge and your blue/grey. But still they both look to still have small combs! So I still think I am about 50/50 on those two. The one partridge and your two white ones look like hens so far. Thanks for those pics!

How are your silkies doing? Can you tell who is a boy and who is a girl yet? Or I mean like, have good guesses, because I know you can't tell for sure for a while.
