I bought 6 silkies in May and received 8. All survived, but now I fear the majority are cockerels. I saw an ISO for silkie roosters. The gal wanted 2. I responded that I may have 3 that I would give her. She asked for pictures and talked me into 4. The next conversation she is wanting 6. Why would anyone want 6 roosters? I found her other fb page she started in May that she calls a blog. She is selling day old chicks for $35 each. I declined my offer and told her to wait a couple more months until I am sure that I have roosters. What are the odds that out of 8 chicks, I have 6 roosters?

Do you have pics? They'd have to have big red combs to tell at 2 months old they are cockerels.

It'll be a pain but if you can get a comb shot and side body shot of each it'd be easier to tell.

I'm not sure of your odds, but I suspect that person would be willing to take your hens also. I certainly would wait, and think it was correct choice on your part to decline the offer.
Silkies are difficult to sex, until they lay eggs, or crow.

I sent pictures to the hatchery. I asked about early wattles meaning males. I can post those. Their response was bearded silkies don't have wattles. I sent pics. For some reason it deletes attachments. Sending more.

The combs are just developing and are black.
