My four year old silkies nostril is blocked. It almost looks like it's covered by a scab (on both sides). I thought I saw something similar on BYCF before, but now I can't find it. Does anyone have any suggestions on if this can be removed or helped? I would appreciate it. I can't imagine how hard it is to breathe like this.

Here's a pic.

Warm wet washcloth and some elbow grease? Maybe it is just coop gunk. If you clear it, and it goos back up, you should look for other symptoms to indicate illness.

My birds always look like that after yogurt time.

Lol, chicken 'booger', just pick it off of both sides. You need to watch her closely for any signs of respiratory illness. While it may just be 'crud', she may have a slight respiratory infection, too.

Just remove the boogs. Usually they'll come off pretty easily. I wouldn't use a sharp object since you can do more harm than good accidentally. I'd just use....my hands. Ewwww. lol. I have done it before ;0)
