i ordered some serama hatching eggs.
I have inculcated before, hatching 8 out of 12 shipped Delawares, but had no luck at all hatching shipped Silkie eggs. So needless to say, I'm a bit nervous with these Seramas, but I just have to try!
My eggs should be here Thursday or Friday, and I have the bator running to get it ready and stable. However, last night, I noticed my Silkie hen has gone broody for the first time that I am aware of (I believe she's right at or under 2 yrs old, I got her in March and the seller thought she was about 1.5 yrs at that time). She didn't growl or peck at me when I checked under her, but she sure wasn't going to move! There are no eggs, so I put a couple golf balls under her. I was thinking I may put a Delaware egg or two under her, however then I thought, maybe she could help me with the seramas?
Any thoughts on this?
