I am so sorry. It is difficult to rehome animals. I always worry about them. They become family members here and then when they go to someone else, I feel badly. Like giving away your child!
I am sorry. I hope your heavy heart can heal soon.
Thank you. The other night I handed him some mealworms. I've been letting him out to run around in the clinic every evening because it's been raining for days so I haven't been able to set him up with a decent outdoor area. He got himself all covered in poop so he's getting bathed today
I'm still a bit concerned. He seems to have back slid a bit. He's still real wobbly. He runs like a healthy chicken but he appears to prefer to just sit there. He's not as vocal anymore. He's in a small crate right now drying and he fell over onto his back. He was able to right himself, thankfully. He's also been gasping whenever he something happens he doesn't like which is new. I'm hoping the weather clears up soon so he can be outside and hopefully exercise on his own.
Have you tried some poultry vitamins on him? Silkies can have issues with vitamin deficiencies. He may be lonely as well. Poor Nugget. You are taking great care of him however, no matter the outcome.
I have him on b vitamins and standards bird vitamins. I have to wait til tomorrow when I get paid then I have to take my little dog to the vet then I'll see if the local feed store has any poultry vitamins. I was looking at the Sav-A-Chick vitamins online. Do you think those would help too?
