Yeah would be thinking cockerel. I have a few silkie hens and their head hair goes up and forward. .. Just a guess thou.

I wouod guess cockerel! On the last bunch of hatchery straight run silkies that I had, the ones whos cresr feathers swooped back were male and if they were more of a "poof" they were female.
