me again! Is this bright comb any indication of roo/hen for silkies? My dark one doesn’t have it at all. 5 weeks old

It's an indication of poor skin color, not mulberry.

But that is a pretty wide comb... might be a cockerel.

Is it something that I’m doing? Or just the breeding? I got them from a breeder not a feed store. This is the other one I have.

It's the breeding, not you.

Some colors are harder to get the mulberry.. for instance in my Paint they were more likely to throw a light skin or light toes than my blacks.

But it's also difficult to get nice blues in Silkies. That boy has gorgeous feather coloring, is he a splash? Uh, I guess I am going with cockerel for 5 weeks old.

The breeder you got them from may still be working on skin color, or not select against it, or have some that just throw light skin sometimes. Hard to say since I don't know their goals or efforts.
