So 5 days ago I went out to the coop to check on the girls before work. When I opened the door Splash came tumbling out covered in blood and non responsive. I rushed her inside to find that she had multiple bite wounds. The worst was about a half inch away from her vent and a large 1 inch piece of flesh was hanging off of her. The other wounds were around her neck under her crop and under her wing. She is healing wonderfully. I had to give her a bath on the second day because she was caked in blood and sand and the wounds were very dirty. I think that she has a cold before this happened because she is now breathing funny, (she sounds congested, like a stuffy nose and the skin behind her beak moves when she breathes.) she has had a great attitude and appetite until today. she is falling asleep in her food trying to eat but spitting it out and listless. I gave her some canned veggies which she would eat for a second then literally pass out face first in the plate. I have been giving her vetRX, putting a drop on her beak and a few drops in her water. She is on a mix of medicated chick starter, grains, laying crumble and anything else she wants (yogurt, chips, veggies, fruit etc) I'm treating the wounds with poultry would care from TSC. As precaution I fed her .03 ivermec. (in case its worms or something) any advice?????
also, she has always been super thin, she suffocated as a 5 week old chick and hasn't been right since. but she is letting her crop empty, to the point of when I come home from work and eye dropper her water her throat gurgles.
