It makes me very sad to post this, but my poor silkie Carol is in need of a new home. My Orpington's, who grew up with Carol, have turned against her. When I went out to the coop today, poor Carol's little hat had been nearly fully plucked out.
She is about 2 years old, is an excellent mother, and lays little tan eggs. I just got her to stop brooding (ice cubes subbed for eggs, worked like a charm!) but she would probably be very happy to sit on someone else's eggs again.
The photo is from last summer after I rescued her and her chick from a bad living situation.
Please let me know if anyone is able to give her a home where she can relax with ladies more her size.
Thanks
