Hello! My Silkie hen, Velvet, is sitting on a clutch of about seven eggs. I have three other hens and one Old English Game rooster. Is it possible for an Old English Game and a Silkie to mate? How do I know if the eggs are fertilized? She hasn't left the clutch yet and she is very territorial. Please help!!!!

Yeah, an old english rooster can mate with a silkie.

look up egg candling. You can see inside the egg with light. Shadows inside mean different things. Like lines mean blood vessels= fertilized egg.

The hen will leave the nest at least once a day for food, water, and to go to the bathroom.
