Silkie hen not laying eggs

I just purchased a pair of silkies last Friday. They are 1 1/2 years old and healthy. The man I bought them from told me she produced eggs, but I have yet to see one. I know I haven't had them long and to be patient, but I just want to know when or if I should expect eggs. They are so cute though so I'm being patient.

When chickens are moved to a new home, they generally stop laying for a while. Production breeds will generally start laying within a relatively short period of time. Non production birds such as your silky hen may stop laying for a more extended period of time. Be patient, she will lay, and then most likely she will go broody.
