Silkie Hen or Roo

Wondering if anyone can help me figure out of i have a hen or a roo. Thanks in advance.

I would guess hen but I am not sure. My silkie started to lay at 11 months so it took me 11 months to know for sure.

I would guess cockerel.

Looks like a hen to me, there are no streamers, and most likely if it was a cockerel at that age he would have them. My silkie started laying at about 6 months, so you may know soon. But mine are bearded, so it may be different.

I'm guessing pullet but the single comb makes it a bit harder to be sure. I don't see any streamers though so I'm guessing pullet and will lay in the next month or so. Depending on where you live/light hours.

I have some I'm not sure about yet from this spring as well.

Some are easier to tell than others and I have had to wait for eggs before.

Most you can tell sooner and I've had silkies lay as early as 4-5 months to maybe 7-8 months. I've never had one wait until 11 months. I would say that's unusual and caused more by when they matured and the daylight hours at the time.

If it develops waddle and streamers off head and tail it is male. Especially if crowing. Pics hard to tell.
