Silkie Hen or Roo?

We were recently given two silkies and told they were both Hens. The bigger of the two seems to be a hen, but the smaller of the two has me guessing. Any thoughts?
The bigger girl, Lucy.

The smaller one, Chedder.

And their bouncer, Titan.

The smaller one, Cheddar, is supposedly about 2 months old. The bigger one, Lucy.... I don't know. :-/

I can't really tell on either of them! You might have to wait a few more weeks. Or try posting them on the Silkie Thread! A lot of SIlkie "experts" hang out there!

That's really my gut on this, too. But, it makes me sad because we can't have a Roo where we live. Not sure what we're going to do.

I'd say the little guy is a roo. You can see his comb forming. You can always call your local 4H club and donate him to the club. They will place him with a family that is a member of the club. They will take good care of him. I had to do this as well with my silkier roo. It's very sad but I had to do it. At least they get a good home there and will be loved. Just a idea. Hope it helps.
