Silkie hen or rooster ??

Hello,

I bought this silkie in May and the guy told me it was 5 months old and it was a hen. Now she's 8 months old and I've been wondering whether or not it is a hen or a rooster. She hasn't start to lay nor crowing. And most of the time when she get close to my other hens ( other breed ) they starts pecking her. My rooster as well tries to peck and removes the silkie's feathers. Well I don't know it the roo is trying to mate or just peck her.

Can anyone advise me ? Thank you.

Was she that size when you got her? I think she’s a hen but most hens are laying by 6 or 7 months. She may be younger than you think.

I’ve had Silkies in the past and your Silkie has a large comb and streamers coming from his crest.
