silkie hen question

i have a young silkie hen she has only layed around five eggs i think if i put her in a cage with some of her eggs and a few other sometime soon do you think she will go broody or is she to young

you can't force a chicken to go broody. Their broodiness is triggered by long daylight hours and warmth. Silkies are very frequent broodys so she might go broody sometime this summer.

Like gameboygal12 said, you can't force a Silkie to go broody. Silkies ARE one of the best brooders out there though. She might go broody, but keep her in a warm spot. Mine tend to go broody more in the summertime, not so much spring time.

They will set when they turn broody. Then you won't be able to get her off the nest very easily and she'll come back if you do take her off.

(She isn't broody if she isn't setting.)
