I have a Silkie rooster with the comb of a rooster but then I thought I had a hen and she has the comb of a hen but this morning I walked outside and she started crowing can hens crow or can they have different combs but still be a male?

Silkies have walnut combs so basically the only difference between the comb of a rooster and a hen is the size of the comb (and even then it's not always evident, especially in younger birds). If your Silkie is crowing however, it's almost certainly a cockerel. Hens do crow on very rare occasions, but it's almost always an older hen that has taken on the role of a rooster in a roosterless flock. If you want to post a pic, we can verify its gender for you.)

Both are roosters. The second one just has the wrong comb type for a silkie- it has a single comb(what every one thinks of when they draw a generic rooster).
