Silkie Injury?!

I just got back form vacation and I found mt Silkie Rooster has one of his toes biten off? I can't figure out how it happened. I also can't find a point of entry into the pen. The other hens have nothing wrong with them. He does protect his flock by going up to the fence and fight. Maybe his toe was outside the fence and something bit it. ANy suggestions?

Also should I do something to the toe? I couldnt get to him as he wants no help, I think he is mad at me for leaving. LOL

I never had it happen so you might want to do a search on this. Anyway, I read on here that rats are famous for biting off chicken toes.

Do you have any small holes in the floor or sides of your pen or coop? That could be how they get in. Good Luck.
