First of all, yes they are mixed. I did a project last year by mixing a splash silkie roo with a wheaten EE hen and the chicks turned out looking like silkies. The only thing that wasn't the same is not all of them had 5 toes on both feet. Some had 4 and some had 5 on one and 4 on the other. The rest was the same, they had black skin, black beaks and what appeared to be a walnut comb. I didn't keep any of them long enough to see how they feathered out but the person I sold them to informed me they look like silkies but they lay blue and olive eggs.

I think that is soo cool. I was wondering if they would do that. Maybe she will see this thread and add some pictures of the birds. I haven't seen them since they left here last year.

I sold all my EE's so no chance of trying it again. I sold them all to catitude, she's a member here. I'll send her a PM and ask if she can post pics. I'm sure she has some.

Hi! I have 'silkie feathered green-eggers' here. There is a thread somewhere...

Here it is..

Lovely birds they are! Here is one of the roosters: nice vaulted skull, black skin, not quite black comb tho that can be worked on...

Here are three of the hens. Again, nice vaulted skulls, black skin, and two have black combs. The white rooster in front was one of the original roosters I bought. All the others were from eggs hatched from emvickrey. The ladies all lay a blue or green egg.

Here is a picture of yesterday morning's eggs from my little flock. I have olive eggers in two chicken tractors in the garden, and silkies in the two closer to the house. I collect eggs in the afternoon as well, but don't have those in the picture. The Silkie X egg is on the right, behind the apricot colored egg.

I have several of these eggs in the incubator right now! I'm hoping that they lay blue eggs like their mommas. In about two weeks, I'll be letting you know how they look.
