I have a Silkie Chicken that I believe is a silkie sultan mix. Feather Lover Farms claims its pure silkie "smooth" with feathers, haha . Anyway, it appears to be broody for the last week it hasn't left the nesting box but isn't sitting on eggs. Is this normal?

Yes.
Are you going to break her? She shouldn't be left broody.

Why shouldn't she let her brood? There could be other reasons why she may not be sitting on the eggs rather than being a bad mother.

OP, how many eggs are currently in her nest? I know that my broody duck wouldn't' sit on the eggs until she had a good sized clutch. Is it possible this hen is gathering a clutch still? Maybe she hasn't committed yet. How many days has she been acting like this?

I was thinking of giving her eggs but since she wasn't sitting on them I wasn't sure if she was really broody.

Does she not have any eggs to sit on? Is she laying? How old is this hen? Try placing some fake eggs in there coop, and see if she sits. If she's laying, she'll start to gather her clutch and sit when there a desired amount of eggs.

She's only 7 months old. She doesn't have her own eggs to sit on but I can give her another from the flock. She has stopped laying she was only laying for about a month before she became broody.

Awww, I see. If she's only 7 months you will likely want to break her. She isn't mature enough to be a mother yet, young hens usually don't do to good a job. Her moment isn't this year, but surely she'll try again next year. Silkies are known for that. :)
