My females never crowed.I have heard it is common for silkie hens to crow, so I think eggs would be your main clue.

I usually knew by three month if they were a boy or girl. Each bird is different. Wont be too long before you can tell. It definitely has quite a bit of comb for a 2 month old. Best of luck & enjoy him or herIf she manages that it would be awesome! She’s only about 2 months right now...
I’m iffy. I wanna say cockerel but comb isn’t wide but is tapered.What do you think @AlleysChicks Male or female?
It really depends on the individual bird. I had a female Silkie that I would have sworn she was a rooster from the time she hatched because she was such an aggressive chick. Turned out to be a hen. She settled down when she was a first time Momma. She ended up being my best broody hen/Momma that I've ever had. Including my LF breeds.For those that are familiar with silkies, are the roos somewhat mellow?
